Why do people find it so strange that I wear nappies/diapers?
I have been a bedwetter most of my life, and wear a nappy to bed. I know plenty of girls who use pads to protect themselves at that time of the month, and no one thinks this is strange. But when I wear a bigger pad (a nappy) to bed to protect from urine, people think I am weird. What should I do, just wet the bed? Can someone offer an opinion?

- um just keep it to yourself dont tell people about your problem
- You need to get to the bottom of the problem because you should not be wearing pads or "nappies" to bed if you aren't a baby.
- Don't worry about them, they just try to be funny. They see it so strange because most growing people don't have that problem.
- It is nothing to be ashamed about, but you should talk to a doctor about bed wetting issues. There is now medication for it, and it can be a sign of other underlying problems.
- if you seriously have a medical problem- then I can't see what is weird about wearing them to bed. If you need honestly need them, wear them. it would be weirder for you not to. I think those people are weird for not using their heads to see the logic of your condition
- I agree, keep it to yourself. But I would try to fix it if I were you. People find it strange because it is, it's EXTREMELY uncommon for this to happen so late in life and it could make things hard for you. Maybe try hypnotherapy or something like that.
- first of all you need to not tell anyone and 2nd maybe they think its weird because if you are 10+ they think because you wear nappies/diapers that you are a baby which isnt true. maybe if you are going to tell anyone say that you have to where these "kind of large things so that you dont fall off the bed or snore" or something like that ok hope it helped from im-cool-4eva
- Have you discussed this with your doctor, cause I had to have surgery for that. I had a severe prolapse, that could have become fatal, if I had not done anything about it. If all else fails, I would think something like depends would give you better protection.
- Yea, I would just keep it to myself. I mean what goes on in your bedroom, is your business! If you have a significant other, then they should support you, if not then talk to them about it. Have you been to the doctor about your condition? I know I had an aunt who had this problem. You should Have your bladder checked out.
- If you necessitate diapers, then don't be ashamed of it. That is a silly behavior. If you can't control something then why worry about it or be ashamed of it. People shouldn't be selfconcious about any disabilities, its not fair they have them to begin with. Try not to drink anything before bed and use the bathroom before you go to bed also, other than that maybe sleep on a towel or something or you can get that plastic sheet to put under your top sheet. One more note that you might want to look into is, I used to date a girl who was an epileptic who would ONLY have siezures at night while asleep, during those siezures she would almost always wet the bed.
- Honestly, it does sound kind of odd. Do you have a medical problem or is it that you sleep so deeply you cannot wake up to use the bathroom at night? Is is a psychological issue? I'm not trying to make a joke or be mean. Some children have psychological issues that cause them to wet the bed. There is a pretty big difference between protecting yourself during menstruation and being an adult who wears on to protect from urine. Especially when you can easily get up and use the restroom. If you explain the reason why you do this, whether it be medical or heavy sleeping etc, then I think people will understand. Without the explanation it will seem very, very strange for an adult to behave this way.
- They find it strange as you are a freakin retard! Wth. Only 5 y/o's and below wear nappies >S! Now you stupid kid, stop wasting people time with your jokes!
