What size nappies should get my friend for her newborn?
I have offered to buy a months worth of nappies for my friends baby so she doesn't have to worry. I heard that a baby will use about 10 nappies a day and that they only need newborn ones for the first two weeks. Is this right? I was thinking of getting 140 newborn and 140 of the next size. What would the next size be?

- That sounds good. It may be too much though, so keep the receipts for her...
- Some babies are too big for the NB diapers and have to go right to size 1. I would go with the size ones. My son was only in NB diapers for about 10 days. They have the umbilical cord cut out and as soon as it fell off we got rid of them. He leaking out of them constantly.
- 2-4 months.
- you can easily find out the next size while you're there buying it. the thing is, it's pretty hard to gauge, because it really depends on the size of the baby.
- 10 is way too much in one day unless she/he poops every two hours or the mum is a nappy changing fanatic. Nappy's are meant to absorb pee so they don't need changing 10 times a day. 6-8 at most per day is plenty. 140 nappies would last for about 3 weeks @ 6.6 nappies per day I would get about 1 small package of 40 newborn up to 8-10lb for the first week, who knows her baby might be that size or bigger already when s/he is born (mine were all bigger than 8lb at birth) so keep the receipts so they can be exchanged for the bigger size 1 nappies then the remainder in 8-14 pounds/size 1 - a box of 140 of these is fine. so 40 newborn + 140 size 1 = 180 nappies = 6 per day for 30 days Don't forget about 2-3 packets of wipes to go with them!
- I would recommend not so much nb diapers since u get a lot for free at the hospital, but lots of 1's and 2's. my daughter used nb's for bout a week she did not use 10 diapers a day about 4-5. and she was in size 2 for like two months. good luck. your being such a huge help to your friend
- Yep get both sizes. You can't go wrong that way.
