Does anybody think that there is a posability that disposable diapers could be a cause of autism?

It seems that with all the debates lately with people trying to find out what is causing the increased number of autism cases that this would be just as much a possibility as any other. I am just wondering because I continue to see where diaper companies are adding more chemicals all the time in the process of increasing the effectiveness of the absorbancy. Just looking for any input on this.

Good point. Those chemicals would be absorbed into the skin so who knows? I used cloth diapers and would do the same today. I heard 1 in 150 kids are diagnosed with this. That is staggering! Has to do some sort of element, environmental or not, that is triggering this epidemic. (Autism is happening to birth parents of all ages these days. I work at a school and we have all ages of parents.)

FYI, THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY THAT DISPOSABLE DIAPERS CAUSE THIS BECAUSE FOOD ALLERGIES ARE THE REAL CAUSE.
No, I find that highly unlikely. Autism existed long before disposable diapers did. My mother used cloth diapers for me and I still have an autism spectrum disorder. The same goes for so many autistic people. I don't think diapers have anything to do with it. I doubt that autism is on the rise in the first place. It just hasn't been recognized for very long, which means that people were not diagnosed correctly in the past. Autistic people used to be labelled as possessed, evil, eccentric or retarded and mild forms of autism often went pretty much undetected. Autism was not well known or understood until very recently and there was little public knowledge of it and autistic people were stored away in institutions. Now there is more medical knowledge, more autism awareness among the public and people with autism are more included in society. All this may give off the impression that autism is becoming more common, but that is very doubtful.
