average American baby contributes over SIX THOUSAND disposable diapers to our landfills?
The average disposable diaper takes about 500 years to break down in a landfill.. IS THIS NOT APART OF THE PROBLEM WHY THE EARTH IS BEING POLLUTED?

- Who cares? I don't.
- um, yes. along with all the other crap that people put into the earth. Pickles: you seem to get bent out of shape alot over nothing at all. and fyi, saying that you dont care about the earth being polluted shows your ignorance.
- Well maybe you should put your knowledge into making the first eco-friendly diapers. Go with it!
- well that certainly is a start of our problems, but what about starbuck's cups, plastic bags, and napkins? are those not also a problem? how long does it take for them to break down?
- Why are you so infatuated with how much "Babies" can ruin peoples lives. Do you have any children? No judging by your previous RANTS. You're polluting the earth with ignorance. But to answer your question: Who cares?
- This is one of the reasons I switched to cloth diapers (I washed my own diapers in a high efficiency washer and often hung them to dry) when my first child was 6 months old and used partial EC w/ my second child. If I am blessed w/ another child, I will try to use EC as much as possible. The thought of all those diapers in landfills really does disgust me.
- yes ... but recent studies have shown that cloth diapers are just as bad, if not worse for the environment, because of the amount of washing, rewashing etc you do - think about it - laundry powder, hot water, energy costs. . . it all adds up. So unless your intending to hand wash your kids poopy diapers in cold water with no detergent and then air dry them... i dont really see the difference ... Plus you can buy biodegradable disposable nappies nowadays too Get off your high horse matey .... and if you care so much about the environment get off the internet too! :oP
- well maybe the diaper makers should do something about that, and i don't know why you are attacking diapers there are millions of other things that are polluting the earth too...........
- I plan to use cloth diapers. Fifi- Get your info straight. You cannot honestly believe cloth diapers are worse or use more energy. If disposable were better don't you think we'd be using disposable towels to dry our bodies, disposable clothing, etc? Your information is skewed by the disposable diaper companies and has never been proven. And lets not even consider that the disposable diapers are allowing human fecal matter to enter ground water because most do not properly dispose of it from a disposable diaper. Yes, you are supposed to dump fecal matter from a disposable diaper into the toilet before placing it in the trash...Gee I wonder how many toilet flushes that is
