- I know wat u mean..i had the same problem yrs ago. I found putting them in a tumble dryer helps to help keep them soft. Otherwise keep trying different types of softeners.
- I think just a really good softner. I did hear vinegar in the rinse water was supposed to help but I didn't find it did much.It all depends on the weather too, if it's a hot dry day they seem to dry hard
- I always used All detergent and Downy dryer sheets and they were soft
- Softener, ironically, will stiffen cloth diapers and make them less absorbant over time, because softener leaves a chemical residue on fabric -- that works great on shirts, but not so well on something you want to absorb pee. ;-) I use white vinegar in the rinse cycle and that works great to both soften the fabric fibers AND help rinse away any detergent residue, making the diapers really absorbant and odor-free. A half-cup to a cup is plenty -- experiment with the amount, as it depends on how hard your water is.

- It was so long ago but i used lux flakes good on you for using cloth nappies!!! more people should use them it's better for the environment
- You're not supposed to use softener on cloth dipes, it might actually be making them stiffer. Wash with a detergent that has no scent or softenerin it, like All Free and Clear, or Charlies. Use vinegar in place of softener.
