What does diaper rash feel like to the touch?
My dtr is almost 5 months old and is getting her 1st bout of diaper rash. It feels very rough and chapped to me. Could it be something else? She doesn't seem to be in any pain. She has a doc appt. tomorrow. But I was wondering... what does diaper rash feel like to the touch? Thanks!!!

- That's what diaper rash feels like sometimes. It could also be a yeast infection. Even little baby boys can get them. Anyways, your doctor will tell you tomorrow.
- That's what it's supposed to feel like! No worries!
- When my daughter had a yeast infection it was spotchy, raised and REALLY red. A diaper rash was just light red and chafed looking, if you use diaper cream for more than 7 days and it hasn't gone away, then it's time to call the doctor to see if it's yeast infection. A and D ointment always worked better for me than desitin, but everyone's different. Let the area dry as much as possible by leaving the diaper off after changes for a bit, or patting the area dry after wiping. Keep in mind it is getting hotter now and diaper rashes can easily turn into infections so treat asap.
