- My baby gets frequent diaper rash and what works for him is going back and forth between different meds... Try Butt Paste and Triple Paste... you can also ask for a RX from your ped.. Nystatin (spelling) works for him... Goodluck
- Desitin!!! Trust me!!
- If you have tried everything that you can possibly do and its not working, even what your doctor recommended, you might wanna try going to another doctor.Just to be sure a second opinion might be best.
- Try to let as much air on her skin as you can. Make sure to change her diapers continuously and reapply any ointment you can. Have u tried I believe it's called Bactroban. I don't know if that's the correct spelling but it works wonders you will need a script for it though. Also the Pampers swaddlers diapers have an absorption liner that pulls the fecal matter and urine away from the skin. I think they are wonderful. Good Luck and Bless you and your little Miracle!
- Desitine does work good. But i have always found yeast to be the best. Just buy what you would buy for a yeast infection.
- There is an cream called Boudreaux's Butt Paste...it's wonderful. Don't know if they carry that where you live, but you can buy it online at www.buttpaste.com. My son is almost 10 and we still use it on insect bites, rashes...whatever skin conditions might crop up.
- my grandchild had the same problem.the only thing that stopped it was called BALMEX.it's otc at any pharmcacy.
- try criticaid. it provides a nice thick pasty barrier.
- Antibiotics often cause yeast infections in little people, so if you're BF, watch how much sugar is in your diet as well. Butt Paste works wonders, but I recommend using this as well as cloth diapers and changing her often. If you don't want to invest in cloth diapers, just get some training underwear and some liners. The chemicals in disposables can irritate already raw skin. You can always use the undies later.... or maybe you have friend that has some you could borrow. Give her an oatmeal bath daily as well. Just put a 1/2 cup or so of oatmeal into a nylon, and let it soak in the bath water for 15 minutes before, and during the baby's bath.
- you try cold cream PONDS dont put powder
- Are you using Desitin original? The white stuff that's hard to get off your hands? I've heard that the less potent Desitins aren't as good. My favorite thing, which I slather on everything from bottom irritation to dry noses is Aquaphor. It just seems like it would make a painful problem feel better. So it should at least provide comfort, even if it doesn't clear up the rash. But Aquaphor was the ONLY thing we found that eventually cleared up our son's lip rash, which he had for two months before we finally tried it. So that would be my first recommendation. I've also heard that corn starch can help some diaper rashes. It depends on the type of rash. It's really good for absorbing moisture. I've also read that the best thing for diaper rash is sunshine. You could try laying her on her tummy and letting her play or snooze in direct sunlight. Finally, make sure that when you wipe her (maybe with a wet, warm washcloth rather than a wipe, until her problem clears up) you allow lots of time for her to air dry before you put on the ointment or diaper. Also, avoid washing the area with baby wash. It dries out the skin and can prolong a rash. Other than that, I'd demand help from the Pediatrician!
- I do not like the white cream usually I have been using A&D ointment (the orange kind) I find it too be less harsh then the white cream. Those types seem to dry the skin out and make the problem worse I would avoid baby wipes as much as possible. Use a warm soft cloth or tissue. Wipes contain ingrediants that make rash worse
- Bag Balm. My daughter has always gotten diaper rash so bad that it would bleed and the only thing that would work was bag balm.
- My son got a major diaper rash when he was 5 months old. he is now 8. I took him in to our pediatrician and they gave him yeast cream. it took a little bit of it out but it wouldn't ever go away and in the mornings it was really bad after being in a wet diaper so long. i finally took him to a naturopath and he actually said it was yeast but had bacteria as well. He gave me so candida which is a natural remedy and it worked very well. Might want to consider it. I also ordered this Salve online at www.naturalfamilyboutique.com/?nat.babies It is all natural and has lots of different uses-one being for diaper rash. It isn't white either so it just rubs in and isn't a big deal if he puts his hand in it. lol
- Desitin didn't work for my daughter... we found that Triple Ointment cream... which you can usually buy at a pharmacy is the best thing... We uses that.. plus if it a fungal then go grab some anti-fungal cream usually buy the diabetics supplies or even some Monistate cream (Womens yeast infection cream) any will work, it should clear up in a few days to a week... (Don't use powder though, it just locks in moisture and keeps it next to the skin! bad for baby!
- Your child has liekly developed a fungal rash. Try some lotromin cream. I usually mix it with destin and a little cortisone cream. Works like a charm. PS After 6 months old you can give your baby yogurt whenver she has an antibiotic to prevent this type of rash.
- Ok this worked for my son when he had a really terrible rash, first, lay down a play mat or large blanket and let her play with no nappy on as much as possible for as long as she will tolerate it. Also give her baths with a lot of baking soda in the water add more near the rashed area when you put her in, and play with her in the bath for as long as you can without letting her get cold. Then when you take her out of the bath let the area air dry (wrap her up everywhere else) and cover the area with a nappy rash cream before replacing the nappy. I find that sudocreme is an excellent nappy rash cream. This usually gets rid of the rash in about 24 hours or less. Best of luck to you!
