What is a good diaper ointment for diaper rash ?

My daughter (18 m/o) has diaper rash ever so often she is always changed often and is allowed to run around without a diaper sometimes, but she still gets them every once in a while. When she does have them it just breaks my heart to see her in pain. I went out a bought the Huggies sensitive wipes I hope those will be gentle. I havent switched diaper brands or soap so I am not sure what causes it. What cream have you found to work the best for your child? I have the DR Smiths and it seems to work well, but am almost out and may try something different. Thanks for all your help!

3. I dont know if you have a target where you live but the best thing for a diaper rash is butt paste it is a little expensive but it goes away right away
4. A&D always worked well for us. Its better to not put oitment on when the diaper is on. Powder is better. Diaper rash is caused by moisture and lack of air. Adding oitments just adds to the moisture. Powder helps stop moisture and cut down on friction. Repeat diaper rash without a real cause might be something more than meer diaper rash. Its possible she's getting a type of yeast infection, or that she's allergic to diapers.
5. my daughter had very sensitive skin when in diapers i would let her air out for a little while also she just loved that lol expencive but pampers were the only diapers i could put on her and had to use pampers sensitive wipes and used lots of a*d ointment. also with the girls you have to make sure you wipe them out good and dont get no poop up in the front my daughter also had urinary track infections this was no fun

I used to always use Desitin.My brother used it for my niece as well.Some infants are really sensitive.Regardless if you were to change your daughter every 2 minutes.It is good to make sure that their rear be air dryed.You said you let her run around.It sounds like you are doing your best.If she still has problems,then I would look into switching brands of soap,lotions,diapers and so on.Hope Desitin works for you..

9. Get Desitin, I swear by it, put it on at every diaper change to prevent it. Make sure its on before bed, alot will heal at night!

11. Butt Paste is the best or anything with Zyncoxide ( hope that is how is it spelled). My daughter can only where huggies and she breaks out really easy I know what you mean about feeling bad for them. Good Luck
12. Vaseline is the best that is what the pharmacist said and I used it with my son and it worked great plus it is so much cheaper than al lthe other ointments! When she has a diaper rash never use wipes they have alcohol in them and it will burn her butt!! Use a wet wash cloth instead.
13. Desitin works wonders!!!! not the generic brand! also, use cornstarch! that works excellent!

I used Desitin regularly for the first 6 months of my kiddos life (she's 14 months now) but she seemed to always have a rash every week or so, no matter how often she had her diaper changed or how often I applied the desitin. Itw as so frustrating! Finally I took her to her pediatrician and asked him about it. It turned out she was getting yeast infections at least part of the time. (Apparently it is pretty common in babies and often misdiagnosed by us moms as diaper rash.) Anyway, he gave me a prescription and like 10 refills for a really great diaper rash cream that takes care of diaper rash, yeast infections, fungal infections, everything. He said he prescribed it to all his patients parents just because it works so well. I would ask your pediatrician at your baby's next check up about a good diaper creme (and throw in that mayeb there is something he could prescribe) and I bet you can get it. It works really great. Diaper rash or yeast infection its gone within an hour or two when she does get them now.

17. A+D ointment is something that I swear by. I have heard of Beaudreaux's (Boo-drows) Butt Paste but have never used it. No need to go beyond A+D. All of my kids (4) have used it with great results. Almost no rashes at all for any of them.
18. The best i've ever found, three kids and counting, lol, is Bag Balm. It can be found at walmart near the cat and dog food. It was originally made for chapped cows udders, that's why it is there, and also why it works so well. Also, one can of that will last you about 5 years! It comes in a small, square, green can.
19. I like A&D ointment, it clears rash up rather quickly for my daughter.
20. penatin cream is the best but my pediatrician also recommended poly sporin as it has cortison in it. The polysporin cleared up the diaper rash with only two diaper changes.
21. Corn starch and oatmeal works wonders, try it.
