how much do you spend on disposable diapers a month?
I'm expecting my first and trying to budget. So how much would you say you spend in an average month?

- I buy Huggies at Costco, for $37 a box. One box lasts me about a month :)
- 30 to 40 dollars a month.
- $0 Hey, she asked and I answered. Cloth is so much better than it was when we were in diapers. Toilet dunking is optional, soaking is out, and bleach is a serious no-go. If you don't feel like learning something new, don't. I know that I don't clip coupons, never run out, and I don't deal with diaper rash. Sure, it was time-consuming at first, but now I'm chuckling while my friends spend time and energy on leaky disposables while I sit down and listen to the washing machine! Don't hate on cloth until you've tried it for a few weeks! Wetsaway is right, except those stinking bundles of plastic and poop take centuries to break down, not decades. *shudder*
- Always buy the boxes, the are the best deal. I spend 36.00 on Papmpers Baby Dry every three weeks, so It's about 42.00 dollars a month. But like anything, buying in bulk will save some dollars. Otherwise your spending 17-18 dollars every week, which can be like 70 a month. But if you but the cheap brand from Wallmart you save even more money.
- the first three months i use to spend about $40 on diapers but after that i spend about $20 on it... hope this helps....
- you can get sales and coupons for huggies and pampers. I always buy huggies because those are what my duaghter likes best. I spend about 24.99 on a box of 192 for a month. Sign up at huggies.com and they will mail you coupons every month or so. Plus Toys r Us has great sales!
- I have a 13 month old and for the past year we have spent on average about $50 per month on diapers. We used to go to Sam's Club, but now I just go to Wal-Mart and buy the large Pampers boxes at $20 each about twice a month. It's really not a large expensive in the big scheme of things.
- $25.00 on a box of 104 diapers that last me a month. If not alil longer.and that is for pampers at wal-mart.I would buy boxes so you don't have to keep buying them and you know you always have them.
- $40 to $60. I ALWAYS buy JUMBO packs, you get more for your buck...I also have a daughter that has NEVER complained about a dirty diaper, I have to check her every 2 hours or else she will sit in the diaper until it leaks. She has been like that since she was born and she was my first so it took a lot to get used to that because I was expecting something totally different!! The hospital told me about 5 to 8 diapers a day for a newborn is the norm...that is somewhere around 240 diaper a month! Jumbo pack cost about $15 to $25 depending on the brand. DO NOT BUY CHEAPO DIAPERS!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!! I only buy those for my daughters school, they check the kids every hour so I know they won't even get a chance to leak!
- About $40.00 a month
- i buy 2 boxes a month which is about an average of $52.00. i buy 104 for $26.00
- 40-50 dollars a month
- /i have a 2 month old and have spent 10 dollars total Coupons will be your best friend now :)
- I have a 4 month old. She doesnt really go through that many diapers a month. I buy the like 60pack of Huggies and Walmart and that lasts me about a month. I thought I was gonna be spending a ton. And Wipes I buy the store brand from walmart and I buy the like 3 pack.
- When I was a new mom, I wanted all of the best things for my little girl... this meant expensive diapers... and clothes, etc. Only recently, (my daughter is 2 1/2... and we are hoping to be out of diapers soon) did I realize that I LOVE Target brand diapers! They're SOOOOOOO cheap, and the tabs are stretchy, and they don't leak for us!... they're great! Good luck!
- I don't spend anything on disposable diapers. I wear cloth diapers all the time. I'm incontinent and have to wear them for medical reasons. But I think every adult who has kids should be made to wear a disposable diaper for 3 months and then cloth diapers for 3 months so they can see the difference between the two and I would almost bet my next paycheck that they would use cloth diapers on their children after that. Disposable diapers are hot and sticky, they are very uncomfortable and can cause diaper rashes fairly quickly and often. Cloth diapers don't do that. They are softer, more comfortable, they allow th skin to breathe thus diaper rashes are very rare with cloth unless you just don't change them as often as you should. I wear cloth diapers all the time. I have worn disposables and still do on occasions, usually when I travel for long periods of time or am driving on long trips and cloth becomes inconvenient. Seriously think about which type you will use on your baby. Using cloth diapers isn't what it used to be. They are a lot more convenient now than in the old days. Also think about all the disposable diapers you will use during the time your baby is in diapers. Think of how big that pile would be in your back yard if you didn't have the convenience of a landfill to send them too. Now imagine everyone else that has babies and all the diapers that they send to that same landfill. Think of all that plastic and paper that won't degrade for decades as well as all the human waste that goes with them and is seeping down into our water supply. Oh, also remember, cloth is cheaper in the long run, including all the laundry costs included. You will only be adding two to three loads of laundry a week, not a significant amount. Just something for you to think about. Congratulations on your new baby and the life you have taken on the responsibility for. Good luck.
