Premium Nappies

What can I soak re-usable nappies in to remove stains ?

My 8 week old son has been unwell today. I have a pile of very dirty terry nappies, can I soak them in something to remove the stains ?

  1. Is there not a service which collects these and does this for free?
  2. Any laundry detergent - OxyClean works very well.
  3. you need nappy soak, you should be using this anyway.
  4. try bleach
  5. Hot water and Bleach.
  6. Depends on the stain
  7. Try using a very well diluted bleach
  8. you could try napisan it is a bleach for nappies you;ll find it in your local supermarket or chemist
  9. Soak them in bleach and Dreft.
  10. nappysan.excellent stuff.all u have to do is soak it in the solution over night.excellent stuff.
  11. Rinse them out first in cold water - hot water will set the stains. Then fill a bucket with cold water and add a bottle of white vinegar and soak them overnight then wash in your usual way. The vinegar will soften and disinfect as well as help with stain removal. Hope this helps. I used cloth nappies on my first two and I know what it's like at times like this!
  12. I would recommend borax and/or vinegar. Both are great stain removers, deodorizers, they kill germs, and soften the water, thus boosting the cleaning power of your detergent. Borax is what they used to use to soak cloth diapers, so it really works well on baby stains.
  13. baking soda added to laundry detergent in a bucket will do very well. Also rinse twice to make sure nothing irritates baby's skin.
  14. soak in cool water and white vinegar, mixed close to 50/50. Works great. Then wash soon. One night my son had a bad flu night and we did 3 full loads of laundry over one night. I had some BioKleen laundry detergent and it worked awesome. I didn't even have to soak the laundry before washing. Unfortunately BioKleen is kinda hard to find. We only have one store in our entire county that carries it. http://biokleenhome.com/products/household/laundry Hope your son starts to feel better.
  15. hot water and bleach. rinse 2 times since its a new baby you don't want the bleach to irritate the skin
  16. if you have a big enough metal container give them a good boil with soap powder and a little drop of bleach
