what kind of diaper rash ointment can I use with cloth diapers? So far, my youngest hasn't broken out in a rash from wearing cloth diapers overnight with plastic pants. In case she does, I want to know what kind of diaper rash ointment to use. Is there a cheap brand that clears up rashes and won't ruin the diapers? I know Desetin isn't good for cloth diapers because it makes them stinky.

Can diaper rash ointment cause a UTI? I need a little help here--if anyone has experience in the medical field, that would be great! My daughter is four years old, and experiences recurring yeast infections and UTI's--she comes back from her dad's house with them. I bring her in to the doctor and she gets treated with antibiotics. At my house, she is either bathed just with water or with unscented soap for sensitive skin. I remind her to use the bathroom periodically, help her wipe with wet paper towels and make sure the area is dry and clean. She sleeps without underwear for air flow. If her bottom is red when she comes back from dad's I use Desitin and the redness clears up right away. The frustrating part is her father and I share 50/50 placement schedule. By the time her rashes/infections start to clear up, she goes back to dad's and they return. He is very defensive about the situation and claims that the Desitin is CAUSING the UTI's. The time frame doesn't work however. If I use Desitin on my daughter and she comes back with a UTI (two weeks from the last time I used it) I don't believe it can be attributed to that. He refuses to believe any doctor I have quoted. So, in anyone's experience, is it possible that diaper rash ointment could cause a UTI? I used diaper rash ointment on my daughter the entire time she was in diapers, and she never got any infections until after she started having visitation with her dad when she was a year old. To clarify, I am not accusing him of anything, but he is the type of person who claims "perfection" status with his cares for her so in trying to eliminate her problem I only receive blame from him, and no assistance. Best Diaper Rash Ointment? My daughter age 16 months get the worst diaper rashes when she is teething. I know some docs say they aren't related but THEY are. I have tried everything, Balmex, Desitin, Butt Paste, Aveeno, Johnson and Johnson. Know any good home remedies for diaper rash? My little guy (17 moths old) had got a horrible diaper rash. I suspect its because he is teething pretty bad, and it is hot as Hades over here.
