Cloth Diapers Vs Disposable Diapers Knowledge Base

what are the benefits for the baby using cloth diapers vs. disposable diapers? i didn't try cloth diaper coz i don't really know what are the benefits for my baby by using it.
Cloth diapers vs disposable-best answer!? Hi! I am writing a paper for school and its going to be cloth diapers vs disposable diapers. Now I am not going to tell you which I perfer, but I want your opinons and facts on each. Also if you chose disposable, which brand. Thanks! I am a mother myself and I have my favorite, ill let you know later what is. Thanks of all your answers, this will help my essay a lot. Now I use disposable Pampers diapers. The reason I chose Pampers is that the other brands leaked and smelled on me. The reason I didn't chose cloth is that I didn't know if I could handle scrapping the poo off the diaper lol. I don't mind changing my daughter but I want it out of my sight as soon as possible she throws some pretty smelly ones. lol. THANKS!
Cloth vs. disposable diapers? Just wondering if any one has opted for the cloth diapers and or diaper service? How did you like it? Was is cost effective (compared to disposables)? Was it inconvenient or easy? I live in southern CA if that makes a difference, I have been looking into it for economic reasons for our family. I am only 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby, I always thought I would use disposables, however, my fiance suggested maybe we try cloth. Just trying to get some opinions. Thanks... I completely understand that cloth is much much better for the enviroment, and i agree with doing every thing you can to help our environment... however, im gonna be honest... im a first time mom, im fairly young (23), pregnancy seems overwhelming as it is, i dont really think i will care much about the environment while trying to take care of a screaming baby with a wet diaper. I am really looking for what will be practical and cost effective....
Cloth Diapers Vs. Disposable Diapers? ok so my parents and I were having a discussion about cloth diapers Vs. disposable diapers. There are pros and cons to both. These are the ones we came up with, I'm sure there are more: CLOTH Pros: Healthier for the environment Money saver Possibly healthier for the baby? (Were not sure about that tho...) Cons: LOTS of washing involved Once they get stained we'll need to get new ones anyway "Wetness" might leak through to outer clothes If pins need to be used to keep it on, they could poke the baby What do you do with the dirty cloth of the baby goes in a public place? DISPOSABLE: pros: Easy clean up No washing Simply Velcro it on and be done Cons: LOTS of money Bad for the environment Smell in the trash Any opinions one way or the other from experienced moms and dads? I'm young and a first time mom and I want to do what is best for my baby. Thanks in advance for the answers!
Cloth Diapers VS Disposable Diapers? I have 2 boys ages 24 Months, and 8 months, and one other child on the way. We are thinking to save money and buy cloth diapers instead of disposable. What are some pros and cons of each? Is Cloth the best way to go??
Cloth vs. Disposable Diapers? I am debating the pros and cons of both. I saw some cloth diapers that were AIO (all in ones) that looked pretty neat an alternative baby store. They are expensive, but I think they are pretty cost effective as they grow with the child. Does anyone have any opinions on either? I'd like to hear from parents who have used cloth, disposable or both? I was also wondering something about cloth diapers. What do you do when the baby soils them and you are out of the house and need to change the baby? Thanks. *AT an alternative baby store. Sorry, typo. Yeah Miss S. I was thinking about doing both. Cloth AIO for around the house and disposable for when the baby goes out. Not sure yet. I do have a while to think about it!
Opinions on cloth diapers vs disposable? I am thinking about using cloth diapers for our second child. Has anybody used them before? did you also use disposables, which one did you like better? if you used cloth diapers which kind would you recommend and why? How much did you pay for them and what site did you use to buy them? If you have any other tips or suggestions they would be appreciated! Thanks.
Cloth Diapers VS Disposable diapers? I was on Many websites! about these diapers! That are so not like the old fashioned way. But now Its much eaiser and so less expensive. What Im asking is Has anybody tried cloth diapers as of called now PREFOLDS* With Bummis Super Wrap Covers! Whats your commets on them. thanks!
Fun little joke about a new daddy [cloth vs disposable diapers]? Joel has been a father for several months now and his friend Jason just had a baby. Joel decided to go check on how things were going for Jason because he was a stay-at-home dad. Joel walked in and Jason's house was a WREAK! There were cloth diapers everywhere, laundry, laundry baskets..the works. Joel asked Jason why his house was so crazy and Jason said I don't know what to do. All day long I'm washing, drying, folding, pinning, and changing these cloth diapers!! Joel told him about disposable diapers and that they're much more convenient. One week later Joel goes back to check on Jason. Jason's house was spotless,a meal was cooked, and he was watching tv. Joel couldn't believe his eyes! .... Until he saw the baby. His diaper was hanging down to his knees! Joel asked Jason what happened and he said man you're right, these diapers are great! Joel said..one problem, you haven't changed his diaper?! Jason looked at him calmly and said .. well, it said up to 20lbs
Are there any health benefits to the baby if you use cloth diapers vs disposable? I've heard there's chlorine and such chemicals in disposable diapers. I'm just wondering if there's such an amount that its been linked to any health risks? Obviously rash is common but I'm assuming that can happen with cloth diapers as well if you don't change them frequently....but sometimes the rash can be an allergy to something in the diaper...? I've tried some "green" disposable diapers but honestly they sucked... lol I've always used disposable diapers and my son never has any problems with rash or anything, but I do get the more expensive brand. I like to think of myself as a natural-ist when it comes to mothering, but obviously this may be an area where I'm lacking. I support all natural births, breastfeeding, cosleeping, etc, but use disposable diapers. Am I putting my child at risk for anything by not using cloth?
CLOTH VS DISPOSABLE...Are cloth diapers more cost effective? What do you prefer & why? I personally like using disposables. But lately with 2 kids in diapers; I have been wondering if cloth diapers are more cost effective... I am "considering" maybe just "trying" them. But I don't know much about them. What do you prefer & why??? Thanks :-)
cloth diapers vs disposable ones? Would cloth diapers be better off in terms of diaper rash than the disposable ones for newborn babies? My baby will be born at the end of February so it's not going to be really hot or humid. Thanks so much:)
Cloth Vs. Disposable Diapers? 1st 3 months and the first two years? From experienced parents, what are the pros and cons of cloth and disposable diapers? I'm looking to keep my child as comfortable as possible, doing a minimal amount of harm to the environment, and save myself money and stress. We will be staying in our tiny one-bedroom apartment for the first 3 months with laundry available about 100 feet away across the courtyard. After that, there's no guarantee that the place we move to will have laundry in our home (we're going into the Army--well, my husband is).
Cloth Diapers VS Disposable? Whats your opinion on this? I use disposables myself....reason being? They are convenient and I have read quite a few articles on cloth not being much better than disposable. Anyone else read about this? Before reading about them I was pro cloth diapers but in the end I didnt felt the cost of the liners and the diapers vs the disposable was more and also my laundry bill was a little more add that with the work of cleaning them and I didnt feel they were worth it. Props to those who can use them but im a full time working mom and at the end of the day I just wanna hold my baby and spend time with her!
Cloth Diapers vs. disposable? i'm just curious who uses what, and what you think about each. i've only really used disposables (with the kids that i nanny) but have seen other nannies who's 'kids' wear cloth. they look much cooler now than when i was a baby. my mom said she used cloth diapers for a day and that was it, just because of the mess i made in them. the environment was less of a concern then compared to $$ but now i'm wondering in the day and age of going green, do more people use them? what are the differences in them now vs then? do you do it because of the environment alone? or is it a $$ thing, or do you really find it easier? i have heard of some people using them, only at home, but when going out take a disposable... what do you do i hear you with the washing, but i thought the new style had velcro... something i was worried about too, but i think they solved that problem
cloth diapers vs, disposable......? i am on my 4th pregnancy, 3rd live birth if all goes well, and we are thinking of using cloth diapers. I have always used disposable in the past. Can someone tell me some advantages of using cloth?
cloth vs disposable diapers? Cloth vs disposable diapers. If you had experience with either or both, which do you prefer? Why? Can you dry them in a dryer? Will they last for 2 babies? Are they easy to wash? Any other input would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Cloth vs Disposable diapers? Hmm.. Here is a question for all the mom's out there. What is better Cloth or disposable diapers? I been doing some reading today about it. I'm still lost on what is better. If you have some info on this and have used Cloth and want to share how it was for you. I would love to hear it. Thanks for taking time to read this and answer.
Cloth diapers? What are the different parts to it? I am expecting a little one soon and am trying to make up my mind about cloth diapers .vs. disposable diapers.I am not getting enough info about how the cloth diapers work. I cannot afford a diaper service and will have to do the washing myself. Are there any liners etc thatI need to buy with the cloth diapers? How does the system work?
Cloth diapers vs. disposable? i am 13 weeks pregnant and have been sontemplating wether or not i want to try using cloth diapers (while at home and in convienient places). I just cannot stand the though of how much garbage dispobales add to our landfills. Has anyone used cloth diapers or attempted to use them? They do sound like a lot of work.... extra laundry +++. But in the long run they must be a lots cheaper too right? Any suggestions or advice? thanks...
Cloth or disposable diapers? Just wondering if anyone can provide a little insight to the cloth vs disposable diapers debate. My first baby is due this March and I have mixed feelings about both. On one hand, I really don't want to add to our landfills, but on the other, I don't want to make too much extra work for myself and others. I plan on being a stay at home mom so it'll mostly be me who does all the changing, so I was just wondering what kind of experience others have had with this. Thanks! Oh, and also if you could suggest the best brands as far as cloth diapers go, I don't want to waste money on crappy ones that don't work.
Did you wear Disposable or Cloth Diapers as a baby? My daughter was born six months ago and I remembered trying to decide whether to use cloth or disposable. My hubby was against cloth at first, but we decided to give it a shot. It has been wonderful. However, my mother can't go over it. She told me that when I was born (1978) that cloth was considered too uncomfortable and everybody was starting to use disposables. It seems that the cloth vs. disposable diaper debate will go on forever. So ladies, which kind did you wear?
I'm considering making the switch to cloth diapers for my 6 month old son- pro's vs. con's? maybe a web-link? I've always thought I might prefer cloth diapers to disposable. But where I live, disposable is the "norm" (I don't know anyone who cloth diapers) so I never really put as much consideration as I wish I would have. This past couple months I've been thinking about making the switch, I've done alittle reading, though not nearly enough to make an informed decision. It doesn't help that since I don't know anything about cloth diapering to begin with, I feel clueless as to how it works. I'm having trouble finding a good website for information on cloth diapering vs. disposable, so if someone could provide a link, that would be much appreciated. In all honesties, my reason for wanting to cloth diaper is really rather silly: I think that they look cuter than disposable diapers. Besides that, I'm not a very eco-friendly person. I do take public transportation and I recycle when given the opportunity but that's about it. I will admit, these past 5 1/2 months, I feel alittle guilty everytime I throw my son's diaper in the trash because I know that's just going to take forever to decompose. Its the same guilty feeling I get when I throw away styrofoam cups. It wasn't until I started doing some reading that I found out there could be other benefits. Is it true that cloth diapers retain the feeling of "wetness" more than disposables and can sometimes help in the potty training process? (I know that's a couple years off, but it would be a nice factor to help me convince my hubby to make the switch.) How about when you're out in public? When at home I imagine you could just put the dirty cloth diapers in a plastic bin outside your back door, but when out in public, what do you do? Do you use disposable when out or do you carry the dirty diaper around with you? How about how clothing fits? Is it true that cloth diapers are more bulky than disposable? does this make it difficult to snap the crotch of onesies or put pants on your infant? My husband is not at all interested in cloth diapering. Apparently his mother tried it with him and had nothing but bad things to say about it. So I will need to find some arguement to help my case when I ask my husband to make the switch. I'm unsure the financial difference- and that would be a major factor in our decision to switch or not to switch. Another major factor: we don't currently have a washer and drier, and instead use the laundrymat on weekends. There are cloth diapering services in our area, though I'm unsure how those work or what the costs are. We will most likely have our own washer and drier when we move to Korea in January. (my husband is military) So if anyone has any personal experience with cloth vs. disposable diapers, please let me know.
what do you think? Cloth vs. Plastic diapers? which do you prefer and why? the convenience of the plastic disposable diapers, or the cloth diapers? pros and cons?
Okay so really which is better for the Earth, disposable diapers or cloth? I guess it's water vs landfills..I think in Toronto you can put diapers in the green bin but I live in BC hmmm Which is better...I am thinking of switching to cloth with my 11 month old...Tips? Where do I get them? I live in Vancouver BC
Nappies (diapers) disposable vs cloth? No doubt this has been asked before but we are using cloth nappies. Is it true 'environmentally' there's not a huge difference? And more of a difference cost wise? (we're in Australia) has any one worked out what one would save using cloth? Thank you
The great environmental diaper debate: Cloth vs Disposables? Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - Should this apply to diapering and potty training? Infant Potty training to reduce, Reuse by using cloth. Thinking that disposable diapers are equal to cloth diapers from an environmental perspective is counter intuitive - under that logic, we should never wash anything and use disposables towels, wear disposable clothing etc. The disposable diaper companies have sponsored studies that have concluded that cloth is just as harmful to the environment as disposables....Are these studies right or biased? What do you think?
cloth diapers vs disposables? Which one do you prefer? and why?
Cloth Diapers VS. Disposables? Which do you prefer, and why?
Who uses cloth diapers? read on...? Okay, so I was talking to my friend Leanna, and her baby girl has just turned 1. She was telling me about cloth diapers vs. disposable ones. And how she saved so much money on cloth diapers. And blah blah blah! So I was wondering about all of your opinion's on cloth diapers vs/ disposable ones. What do yall think about cloth ones? I don't have a strong stomach so Im not sure if I'd be able to clean a cloth diaper. I know I have a long time to think about this because I am only 7 weeks along! also... how was the waiting period for you all after you found out about being pregnant? I mean did the 9 months kind of just fly by or was it long, and drug out and tiring? Some have told me that after 20 wks, the time just seems to fly. But seriously, what do you all think about the waiting time? because Im 7 wks, and knowing that I have 33 wks to go, is not too appealing... so give me your opinion
Expecting mom. Cloth diaper vs disposable. Very confused? I'm expecting my first child this March. I want to be frugal and economical.. I am a stay at home mom. I want to use cloth diapers. But I'm not sure if I would be able to manage with a new born all alone (Washing and cleaning the diapers). I want to try them first. How do I find out if cloth diapers are the best. I don't want to invest a lot and later find out that it doesn't work. Will I be able to manage all by myself? I will have to wash them by hand bcos I live in an appartment. using the washer dryer everyday is gonna cost a lot.
Cloth Diapering vs Disposable? I am expecting my first child and try to be eco-friendly, so I am very interested in cloth diapering. I am wondering about the financial aspects of it. I keep reading it is cheaper than using disposables, but can't find an estimated, total amount. My questions are for parents who've used either method of diapering: How much do you think you spent week to week? How much do you think you spent total (say, newborn to age 3 or potty training)? If you used disposables, would you use them with your next child or switch? If you used cloth, would you use them with your next child or switch? Thank you.
Cloth vs disposable? I am reviewing the pros and cons of cloth and disposable diapers. I know cloth ones are supposed to be better for baby, plus I have heard they make potty training just a tad easier. Has anyone on here actually used them? Are they worth it? Do diaper services come in handy? I would love to hear from parents that have used both. Stories would be appreciated! Thank you all so much! You have certainly given me plenty to think about. I am not quite 100% sold on the cloth diapers but I think I will at least give them a try! Thanks a bunch again all.
How many people out there use cloth diapers, or don't? and what do you feel are the pros and cons of Cloth vs. disposable..
Can cloth diapering really save money & save the environment? I was considering switching to cloth diapers when my baby is 6 months old. However, I heard its really not any cheaper (when you consider additional hot laundry loads, extra detergent, etc - vs. disposable diapers at about $40 a month). I also heard it may not help the environment considering energy usage, detergents and bleaches used in cleaning them. Would appreciate feedback from moms who use cloth diapers especially.
Nature BabyCare vs. Cloth Diapers? Okay...I have done a lot of research about both options. I know that if I go disposable I want to use Nature Babycare, but I guess I'm just trying to get a pros and cons list for both from some people who have had personal experience. Thank you!!
Disposable vs Cloth (dum dum dum! hehehe)? I'm looking to save money all around. (Really? Who isn't these days?) I've been making a comparison chart, for myself, on Brand vs Generic on diapers, formula, wipes... you name it. Then I came across cloth/ reuseable diapers. I'm more then a little worried about trying these out. I have a 6 month old. Is it too late? Will she be able to tell the difference? Do they fit well with clothes? (Is the fit about the same as regular diapers when it comes to clothes) How do you approach poop diapers? (Meaning, how do you clean them off before chunking them in the laundry basket...?) Is it really cheaper? How many do you need to "start out with"? Any pointers? I've never seen a cloth diaper in action, so I have no idea what to expect. Thanks for all your input!! Have a blessed day. :]
cloth vs disposable?? I am considering using cloth diapers--i know they are a bit more work--but they are much less expensive!!--we are considering using cloth at home and disposibles on the go--if we are gone all day or what have you does anyone use cloth--what do you like what do you dislike??--what do you prefer?--- Also like the idea of not having the plactic rubbing on the babies legs--cloth seems like it would be more comfortable for the little one any suggestions? does anyone have a link to a good diaper service that delivers??
Who uses cloth nappies (diapers)? I teach Child Studies to Year 9 (14 year olds) at a Sydney high school. In our 'Newborn Care' topic we're just about to compare cloth vs disposable and they are convinced that no one uses cloth anymore. Do you? Why?
I need cloth diaper advice!!? I'm expecting baby #1 in March and starting to prepare...I'm a recent convert to the idea of cloth vs. disposable - any cloth diaper mommies out there with some advice on good diapers, etc? I'm looking for the least fuss, least amount of work, best coverage and decent prices out there. Thanks!
How much do you spend on diapers (name brand) per month for a newborn? I'm pregnant with our second, and I forget how much we spent on diapers in the early days. I want to use cloth for this second baby, but we wont have our own washer/dryer until a while after it is born. I'm trying to weigh the cost of paying to wash cloth diapers vs. the cost of disposables. My estimate is that washing cloth diapers will cost me about $53/month until we get our own machines. About how much do you spend on disposbable diapers a month, for a newborn?
Topic ideas for a two-sided argument needed.? I need help coming up with a strong two sided argument to write a paper on. I need a topic like Pro-life and Pro-choice where I can argue both sides. I need something strong. Other ideas classmates have used are "Cloth Diapers vs. Disposable Diapers" anything like this would be great. Thank you so much! I think I am going to use "To Spank or Not to Spank" as punishment for children. Seems to be an interesting topic so far. There is research being done to prove that spanking children lowers their IQ
cloth vs. disposables?? advice? i have many packages of diapers from my baby shower, and i plan to use them but im also considering using cloth diapers to cut expenses. what worked best for you? what are some pro's and con's of each?? thanks in advance for the help!!
a question for Aussie, Canadian and UK moms? ok we all know about the heated debates on here, like circumcision, bf vs ff, co sleeping, vaccinations, CIO, cloth vs disposable diapers, sweets vs no sweets, cereal in bottles or not, organic food or not for baby ect. it goes on and on. i am from the US and i know the "norms" or what not over here, like any more CIO is looked down upon, cloth diapers are making a comeback, vaccinations are optional, more and more people are making there own baby food in stead of buying jars. i also know what the popular brands and stores over here are, like huggies and pampers for diapers, johnsons and aveeno for bath products, evenflo, cosco and playtex for carseats/play pens/high chairs ect. garanamals, carters, child of mine, baby gap, ect for baby clothing brands. we shop at sams club, costco, target, wal mart, krogers, winn dixies down south ect. for our selves we shop in jc penneys, kohls, macy's elder beermans, ect. off-brands of baby things include parents choice and target brand. my ? for you aussie, canada, and uk moms are: 1. What kind of stores do we find in your malls or big store outlets? 2. Where do you grocery shop/baby shop? 3. what are the name brands popular where you live? 4. what are the off brands? 5. tell us a little bit about the places to eat/shop where you live and the brands of things where your from. oh and where do you live
How many times do you change your baby's diaper a day? I am doing a cost comparison cloth vs disposables and would like the following info: How many times do you change your baby's diaper a day? How old is your baby? Has the number of changes per day varied as baby grows older? Do you use cloth or disposable diapers? At what age do you expect your baby to be potty trained. If using cloth - do you line dry diaper or exclusively use the dryer? How many diapers do you have? What is the minimum number you would recommend a new parent have on hand? If using disposables - do you use diaper cream? How long does it last? Do you use a diaper genie (or similar?) Thanks everyone for your time! I appreciate it! Kim
Pros and cons for cloth vs. disposable? I'd like some input on who thought what diaper was better and why? Thanks!
Best reusable diaper (cost and function)? Ok, I'm diving. Initially I entered pregnancy under the illusion that I'd go 100% disposable, but frankly, I am not relishing the idea of spending $30 a pop every time baby needs diapers, or running out of them at some inconvenient hour. And since I'm planning to stay home with the baby, I'm starting to flirt harder with trying reusable diapers (I'd likely do both disposable and reusable.) So here's what I'd like to know: -Which brands would you recommend? I'm factoring in cost per diaper/liner, and how well they work (do they smell easily, do they leak easily, are they hard to wash, do they take long to dry, are they bulky, etc). -Are there brands that are better for a boy vs. girl? (We're having a boy.) -Are all in ones better than those with liners/prefolds? (I'm currently headed more towards all in ones.) -Which brands do you suggest avoiding, and why? -Is it best to wash daily, or every other day? On average, how many diapers will I need if I'm washing daily? Every other day? -Which would be better to start our newborn on- cloth or disposable? I've never used a cloth diaper on any child I've ever taken care of, so it'll all be new to me, but I don't want to make the baby uncomfortable if he gets used to one kind and then I suddenly switch. Thanks a ton for all your answers, from both of us! (I know baby can't talk yet, but he's grateful.)
Reaction to Desitin Max Strength ? My BG is 5 months, and she has never really had a diaper rash. I remember smearing the butt paste cream on her (16% zinc oxide) She was getting one, so I applied Desitin Max Strength Original (40% zinc oxide) - it was just handy. Within 2 hours it was time for bath. During bath time, as soon as her lil booty hit the water she had a melt down. Only 2 streaks, just where I had applied the cream were red, appearing as a chemical burn, looked angry and quite painful. She was screaming. I quickly gave her a bath, and then I put Vit A and D ointment on her. She quit crying immediatley. She is resting now, but I called my mom to tell her, and she said that the A/D ointment was probably burning her and I needed to get a RX for 100% zinc oxide. She really made me feel bad. I know the ointment helped because she quit crying...and my thinking is that she doesn't need anymore zinc oxide right now. ???? :- / Does this mean she is allergic to Desitin, or just too much zinc? We cloth diaper, and we have not changed her detergent or anything...I have been using regular wipes vs her cloth wipes more than usual, but wouldn't that make her red all over and not in just those 2 places? Maybe a combo. We switched to cloth because disposables were giving her a rash when she was 3 weeks. I could order disposables that she could use off of internet for her but that was too much trouble...so we went cloth. .... I remember smearing the butt paste cream on her (16% zinc oxide) ***ETA: at one point in the past, without a reaction ***..... Ive been using the same detergent for 4 months...do you think that it would just now show up. I'll try it for sure...I was thinking combo from wipes + cream ???
Cloth vs. disposable diapers? I have used disposable diapers for all three of my children. My youngest is 18 months and has been having a really bad diaper rash or reaction to the diaper. It goes down her theighs. I am considering switching to cloth diapers. I am looking for advise from parents who use them. About general use and your overall opinion. Thanks.
Cloth vs disposable diapers? If I were to mainly use cloth diapers, on average, how many would I need? Would I have to do a load of laundry every night? And how exactly do I go about cleaning the bowel movements off them if they are runny messes? Does anyone highly recommend cloth over disposables?
Cloth vs. disposable diapers....? My one week newborn son is absolutely amazing. I love him more than I thought I could love anything and recently I've been wondering if disposable diapers are uncomfortable for him... I've seen cloth diapers endorsed on here but there are sooo many and I get so confused about which one to get and how to maintain them... all I want is for my lil angel to be comfy! Do you think disposables are truly uncomfy on him and cloth diapers would be worth the trouble? Thanks....
Cloth vs disposable diapers? What are the pros and cons of each? How do you clean cloth diapers when you have a big, nasty mess???
Was it controversial to use disposable diapers back in the 1970's just like it is today? I was born in '78 and my mom used disposables on me. She said everybody who could afford them was using them, nobody was talking about landfill space as they do today. She went on to say that they were seen as innovative and much more comfortable for babies then cloth. So when and why did this whole guilt complex about using plastic diapers really start?? BTW - I personally think disposables are an awesome invention after babysitting my nephews. I don't get why people are still worked up over the whole "cloth v. disposable", I mean we all throw out a ton of GARBAGE everyday, all of us. It's a part of modern life and it's bizarre to waste so much time worrying about it. Just my $0.02 :D
I know I'm throwing down the gauntlet by asking this question, but it's really bugging me...BF and FF mothers? I formula feed my daughter. I had many reasons for not breastfeeding and I don't feel that I need to justify my reasons to anyone. Why are us mothers constantly at each others throats about BF v.s FF? It's really rude and hurtful to assume that use formula feeding mothers are "lazy" and "selfish". Why do people judge just because someone has different parenting beliefs than others. By no means am I saying that ALL breastfeeding mothers are like that. Some formula feeding mother are judgmental of breastfeeding moms also. As a mother, you just can't win! WTF people! We all need to just stop worrying about what other people are doing with their babies and worry about our own. BFF v.s FF, circumcision v.s non-circumsicion, disposable diapers v.s cloth diapers, spanking v.s not spanking...I'm not saying that I'm completely innocent because I have judged too, but after reading all these questions and answers about different parenting I realize what a bi*** I sounded like. Do you think there will ever be a point in time when all of us parents can get along?
Is this a good Get Before The Baby Comes list? I'm coming up with all I should buy, heres what I got so far: Carrier/Sling Bassinet (I was thinking of using mine from when I was a baby, I know my mom would give it to me, and it's in very good shape) Baby bath soup/lotion/shampoo/powder Bath tub Bottles&nipples (I'll breast feed but like just incase, so only two or three, like if I go out one night) Bouncy chair&Swing Changing Table Cloth Diapers (I'm using disposable, but like to put on my should when burping and such) Crib Diaper bag Diaper pail Baby wipes Diapers (like three packs) Hooded bath towels Car seat Stroller Thermometors (I think I want to get the ones you roll across the head) Lots of onesies 6 sleepers Lots if socks and booties 3 hats Lots of bibs 3 undershirts 3 light weight blankets 2 blankets soft washcloths Combs Baby nail clippers Pacifiers Nasal Aspirator Sun shades for car Breast pads V-shaped cushion Breast Pump Sterilizing equipment toys Coat/jacket 4 pants, 3 shirts Anything else I should get? Also, should I ask my mom for the guest room to turn it into the baby room (which is another room away from mine, my sisters is in the middle), or should I try to fix my room up to fit me and the baby, or should I ask my mom for the basement (which is finished, nothing is down there, my parents don't use it, it's just empty rooms and a bathroom, and a work out room, with a place that a small kitchen could be built, and it's walk out)? Oh! If I toke the basement then me and the baby would be there, it has about two rooms, an open area and a kind of like sun room. I don't know about a baby shower...My friends are mostly guys, the girl friend I had is dating the dad now, so I wouldn't really have anyone to invite besides my mom and cousins wife haha
