How many nappies can you fit in a 7kg washing machine? Was thinking about a 5.5kg model like http://au.shopping.com/xDN-washing_machines but I am concerned that it won't hold enough nappies. Should I just go all out on the 7kg, or maybe 2 5.5kg ones when I have heaps to do?
What is better terry toweling nappies or disposables? I am currently considering useing terrytowelling nappies as im sick of the constant buying nappies and the smell of them when they are waiting to be disposed of! What are your thoughts? does it benifit the baby? do you have to change more often? and is it cost effective?
Nappies.........? Whats the avaerage age for toilet training children? Also, is it true that if a child is uncomfortable in their nappy then they will learn to be toilet trained faster or is that just an old fashioned thing?
At what age should I stop putting nappies on my son at bedtime? He's three, and his nappies are still pretty wet in the morning. I have heard it's really a brain-chemical issue, that kids just aren't ready until a certain age which differs with them all. He's right next to the bathroom and certainly would understand to go the toilet if he wakes up at night, but I don't really see a need to rush the process. I explained once that one day he won't wear nappies at night, but will use the toilet like during the day, and he thought for a minute then said, "Would you leave the bathroom door open?" , so intellectually he has a grip on the concept. Thanks for your help.
What did mothers use as nappies throughout history? OK today we have disposable nappies, cloth nappies and wraps. In my mother's day (the 1970s) they used cloth towelling squares and rubber or plastic pants What did they use before this? I mean I guess they used cloth nappies but what about the waterproofing?
How do i get my son totally out of nappies/diapers? My son has been toilet trained since august last year, hes fine through the day but ive always kept a nappy on him for bed which is always wet in the morning, i really want to get him totally out of nappies for when he starts nursery in september. Is it very hard and time consuming to use cloth nappies? I'm due with baby #1 in September, and I was thinking about cloth nappies. Money isn't a worry, but I sort of want to be a really good Mum who cooks homemade food and does the cloth nappy thing lol! How are they opposed to disposables? Also I forgot to add, I've never changed a nappy before!! So should I perhaps start with disposables and work my way up lol?
How can I comfort my 6 year old when changing her towelling nappies ? Ive had to change her into larger double towelling nappies when its bedtime or on long journeys as her wetting accidents are so 'serious' and I just can't get her dry (been trying for 2 and a half years). She keeps saying she's not a baby and tries to take them off but they're saoked very quickly. I try and tell her she's not a baby but it's not working and disposables make her itch. What can i say to make her feel not humiliated ?
How can I prevent my kitchen bin from smelling after putting my baby nappies in it? Before I throw away the nappies, I wrap them in scented nappy bags but the bin still smells and by the time the bin gets full, the smell becomes unbearable. I don't really want to buy a seperate nappy bin because I think this is uneccesary. I have resorted to emptying the bin everytime my baby does a poo(which means everyday, bin bags don't come cheap) I'd like to know if there are other ways round this.
Where in the uk can i buy larger size nappies for a disabled child? My son has high level autism, he is large for his age he is 3 i know he will get free nappies when he is 4 but thats only 2 nappies a day so i need to buy more because 2 will not be enough and its awhile before he is 4, i cant seem to find any uk companies that make nappies big enough on baby sites or small enough on incontient sites, does anyone know of any?
Can nappies help bedwetters become dry quicker ? My 13 yr old Vietnamese niece hasn't got over her anxiety and nerves of arriving in the UK 6 months back. This resulted in bed and often day wetting. Talking didn't help/change things (which was also strongly suggested by others) and I last heard that her mum was making her use washable teen nappies and plastic pants until it stopped. Will this just aggrevate things ?
What, in your opinion, are the best cloth nappies? After i've gone through the nappies i've bought, I plan to move to cloth (apart from nighttime...unless its recommended otherwise?) . What have you guys found to be the best nappies for value (price)? And have you got any tips for me?
My little sister has to wear nappies, what can my family do? My little sister is 10 years old and still has to wear nappies at night. This makes her feel to embaressed to go to sleepovers, school trips ect. She goes to bed a 8.00pm but doesn't have a drink after 7.00pm. She uses the bathroom before she goes to bed and we don't think there is anything medically wrong with her. What do you suggest my family does?
How many nappies and wipes do you go thru in a week? I was just wondering..... We use around 30 nappies and 2 packets of wipes... (8 1/2 month old girl) to Happy Cake: You are very brave, I wish I had the energy and guts to use cloth diapers... And the wipes come in packets of 60.
what size nappies does your 3 month old were? my son is not quite 3 months and i have been using huggies infant nappies since he was about 3 weeks. it says on the box that they fit up til 8kg but my son is only 6 and a half kg and he is busting out of them, was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? are there any other good brands? upto what age are nappies during the night for diarrhea acceptable? If a child has quite bad diarrhea it is fine to have them sit on or near the toilet all day but at night this is inpractical. If the child wears a nappy to bed then it saves the parents the hassle of cleaning messy sheets and allows the child some sleep (needed if your immune system is to recover.) I know of lots of parents who do this with younger children (5 and below.) But at what age does it become unacceptable to put a child in a nappy for this reason? 6, 8, or mabye older? What do you think?
How do you get the stains out of nappies?!? I've just started using cloth nappies, and am having trouble getting poo stains out!! My baby is breastfed so nothing too nasty yet, just very messy (sorry to be so graphic, folks)! I rinse them to get the muck off, then soak them over night in nappy soak before putting them in the wash, but they are coming out still stained, especially in the elasticated part. I paid a small fortune for them, so very disappointed I can't keep them bright white - what's the secret?!
Can I keep my baby dry in terry nappies? I've just started to make the switch from huggies to terry flats with an overnap. Will a flushable liner keep the wet off my babys bum? Do I need anything else to go with the nappy? How can I keep his skin as dry as possible?

Why do people find it so strange that I wear nappies/diapers? I have been a bedwetter most of my life, and wear a nappy to bed. I know plenty of girls who use pads to protect themselves at that time of the month, and no one thinks this is strange. But when I wear a bigger pad (a nappy) to bed to protect from urine, people think I am weird. What should I do, just wet the bed? Can someone offer an opinion?
Are Chinese electric self drying nappies economical in the long run ? They have little elements built in which allow you to just hose the nappie down without removing it from the baby and the miniature solar panels dry it almost immediatey. p.s. For those mums who do not have access to a hosepipe the same result can be obtained by sitting baby in lukewarm water and moving lightly to and fro, whilst singing Be Baw Babbity. To e-mail customers, the Mark 1 version of this product is not now in production, as babies were having difficulties dragging heavy electrical cables over the floor.
